Japanese denim brand Edwin was launched in 1947 in Tokyo by denim connoisseur Mr. Tsunemi. After first importing the finest jeans from the USA, Tsunemi then moved on to create his own line of premium Japanese-crafted denim in 1961. Since then, the company has evolved and continued to innovate within the denim world to become leaders in their field. Edwin was the first to develop the old wash style jean and invented the stone-wash technique which has revolutionised the industry.
